We’re hard at work on Tiny Diggers 2 and we have some cool features and updates that we want to tell you about:
Construction & 3rd Person View
Explore the map in 3rd person until you reach an area where you want to construct something. Then, you switch to construction view.
Construction view is where all your jobs will be done in 3/4 overhead. Depending on the platform you’re playing, you’ll point and click, touch or use the joystick to assign tasks to your workers. You control multiple builders at once, and can target tasks and have them work through everything.
We’re working on a new algorithm for the terrain with polygon smoothing. Instead of block to block, it’ll render a mesh sloped between the two. We’ll have values to each block, so driving on them with a truck might reduce grass to dirt, shovels won’t work on pavement, pouring dirt will increase it’s height value and at certain thresholds fill in, etc.
In Tiny Diggers 2, you’ll have all kinds of freedom when building a structure; think of a lighter version of the Sims. You can place walls, floors, windows and more. You’ll first drag out a foundation structure preset, once placed a ‘construction zone’ is automatically created around this new building. You’ll have the ability to build from the ground up, drag a wall from start to finish, placing the supports, the roof and more.
We’ll have more info coming very soon, including new video demos!
